ヤエヤマヤマキサゴは宮古諸島、八重山諸島に分布しています。殻径は5mm程度の小さなカタツムリです。雨に日に林内の低木上で活動していました。コミノクロツグの葉上で地衣類を食べているようでした。アオミオカタニシやオキナワヤマタニシ同様、目が触覚の付け根にあります（他のカタツムリは、先端にあります）。
Aphanoconia yaeyamensis Aphanoconia yaeyamensis is distributed in the Miyako and Yaeyama Islands. It is a small snail with a shell diameter of about 5 mm. On rainy days, it was observed active on the shrubs in the forest.
