アオモンイトトンボはとても身近なトンボです。腹長は2.5cmほどの小型のトンボで、日本各地から東南アジアにかけて広く分布しています。沖縄でも各地で普通に見られ、水田や池、草むらの中にできた水たまりなど、最も身近に見られるトンボのひとつです。
This is a very common damselfly. It is a small species with an abdomen length of about 2.5 cm, widely distributed throughout Japan and Southeast Asia. In Okinawa, it can be seen almost everywhere ? in rice fields, ponds, and even small puddles formed among grasses ? making it one of the most familiar dragonflies in daily life.
